Two Prince George intersections saw a healthy spike in traffic during the University Way upgrades.
According to the City, Ospika Boulevard at Tyner Boulevard saw a whopping 38% spike in volume while Ospika at 22nd Avenue experienced a 15.8% increase during the closure.
In terms of vehicles per day, Ospika and Tyner saw 10,738 during the construction phase compared to just 7,778 after repairs were completed.
In addition, Ospika Boulevard at 22nd Avenue had 22,583 vehicles pass through during the upgrades – that figure dipped to 19,505 once the job was complete.
City officials noted roughly 3,000 vehicles per day were re-directed to Ospika Boulevard during this time.
