Ferland Park hosted a movie showing Tuesday evening and mayor Gerry Thiessen says it will become a regular event.
Last nights showing of “Croods” was a soft launch for the series. Thiessen says it’s all a part of the effort to make Vanderhoof more liveable.
“That’s really a desire of people within the community as well as council. Just to find things that are easy for families to do and be involved in. This is going to be a very inexpensive way of us having family events.”
He says about 50 people came out for the dry run.
“We found that just a little bit after nine the sun went down and it went very well. So we will be doing it again in two weeks.(Aug 11th)”
The movie was shown on a small portable stage with a screen and projector.
