A Prince George contractor has been selected for road improvements to the Site C dam access points.
A.L Sims and Sons was chosen to complete the work, and will hopefully start construction by mid-August.
Tony Bennett is Project Director for the Ministry of Transportation, and explained what is being done:
“It’s going to provide smoother, safer roads and access down to the Site C site. So road 240, 269 and Old Fort road will be improved with a little bit more pavement”
He says at least one of those roads is currently just gravel, and says the widening and paving of all these roads will improve safety and dust control.
The cost for completion sits at around $7.9 million dollars, and is expected for September 2016.
