Its a big day for the world of BC film.
As Today has been dubbed “Screen in BC day”, celebrating all screen based entertainment created here in the Province.
Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills training Shirley Bond says this includes fulfilling a promise to open a Film and TV office down South:
“One of the things we want to do in a very very competitive environment, is ensure that British Columbia’s story is being told in Los Angeles and that those important connections are continuing to be made. So we are going to have a presence in Los Angeles”
Industry across the province are holding tours of their film schools, studios, and production areas throughout the day.
Bond says BC’s motion Picture industry supports over 20,000 unique jobs province wide.
