Good until the last drop? PG residents fill RCMP’s cup with questions during event

Do you want to join the RCMP? Members of the public had the chance to rub shoulders with local Mounties during the fall session of Coffee with a Cop.

It was held today (Wednesday) at Second Cup on 15th Avenue.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper explains some of the main talking points people brought up when showing an interest in joining the force.

“We had a lot of questions about the education level they have to have, how old they need to be, and what they should be doing with their time if they are post-high school or maybe they finished an associate’s degree or a certificate.”

From drone pilots to those showing interest in joining the Mounties, a good cross-section of people came out.

“We did quite a bit of recruiting this afternoon. We had a couple people come by looking to know more about what a policing career is like and what the application process is like. We also had some people who wanted to sit and chat and get to know us a little bit better,” added Cooper.

Cooper added she is likely to hold Coffee with a Cop again in the winter.
