A Changing of the Guard Ceremony is being hosted this weekend in Prince George.
In a news release, the Rocky Mountain Rangers said this is a significant event in the regiment’s history, as it recognizes the transition from outgoing Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Amedeo Vecchio, CD to the incoming Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Torry White, CD.
The ceremony, which kicks off at 3:30 pm on Saturday from the Civic Centre will be presided over by the Commander of 39 Canadian Brigade Group, Colonel Scott Raesler, CD.
Remarks will be offered by Brigade Commander Colonel Scott Raesler, CD, as well as Vecchio and White.
The Rocky Mountain Rangers is a reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army.
The regiment is based in British Columbia, with its headquarters in Prince George and Kamloops.
