The BC Government and CNC has reached an agreement today to enhance trades programs at the college.
Prince George-Mackenzie MLA, Mike Morris says new equipment will be purchased.
“The province is going to invest 1.5 million dollars to new trades equipment for CNC and all of their regional campuses, many of the in demand occupations that we have that are coming up are trades related for our jobs for skills blue print.”
Heavy duty mechanics and steam engineering will get the bulk of the funding.
By 2022, it’s expected a million new jobs will need to be filled.
13 percent of future openings in BC will be in demand trade occupations.
