YXS given $300,000 by Northern Development Initiative Trust

It is an extra happy long weekend for Prince George’s Airport.

They have just received $300,000 from the Northern Development Initiative Trust (NDIT) for an equipment storage expansion.

According to NDIT, the storage will add space for the airport’s new runway sweeper and other equipment.

In a release, they said, “The completion of the project will provide sufficient space for equipment to be stored in covered, heated storage year-round, eliminating any need to store equipment outside in harsh conditions that may interfere with its operability.”

This was one of fivegrants handed out by the NDIT.

  • $264,160 was given to the Dawson Creek Art Gallery for a new entranceway,
  • The Tl’esqox (Toosey) Band was given $187,000 for sawmill upgrades,
  • $130,530 is going to Kitimat to upgrade the Radley Park Campground,
  • and $65,891 has been given to the City of Dawson for their Main Street Revitalization Capital program.
