According to the BC Fisheries Department, record breaking ocean temperatures along the Provincial coastline could seriously harm salmon populations.
High temperatures in the Pacific during the fall of 2014 and into 2015, means that coastal marine ecosystems could change drastically
These are the warmest recorded temperatures since the Province began recording them back in 1948.
The department says this changes the migration patterns, and distribution of food supply for these fish; and that it threatens the survival of all juvenile salmon in particular.
