City council is fighting for downtown beautification and resident safety through several remedial action orders.
At Monday’s council meeting, Mayor Lyn Hall was pleased to report work on a George Street building is almost finished.
“We’ve completed the work on one location today that is between Rick’s Grill and PhotoFax,” says Hall, “The only thing that needs to be done there is to take down the protective barrier fences.”
Several other remedial action orders are awaiting their deadline.
“The other remedial actions we’ve put forward are still going through the process,” explains Hall, “Once the deadlines has been met, we’ll move in and start the remedial work.”
The Lombardy Trailer Park has until next Monday to complete the demolition of 16 rundown trailers.
