The Ginter’s Green Forever Group will be holding a free barbeque on Thursday to bring the community together and talk about the upcoming Official Community Plan (OCP) Review.
For over a year, the group has been pushing the city to remove road extensions in the area from the OCP and keep Ginter’s as a park in the city.
“We’ve heard that it’ll be a long process, maybe nothing will be decided for a year, maybe two years,” said James Steidle, a local forestry advocate and member of Ginter’s Green Forever.
“We just want to keep this issue at the forefront, and remind people this place is at risk, and that there’s a lot of other values we need to keep considering as a city, including the protection of green space and parks and recreation.”
The barbeque will take place at the Massey Drive entrance to Ginter’s.
Looking forward to this event. I’ll be bringing some local beef hamburgers. July 6th, Ginter’s Meadow pic.twitter.com/MnNHfeumC1
