Multiple Canada Day celebrations planned in Prince George

Today is Canada Day and the start of the long weekend, which is ample cause for celebration.

There are two notable Canada Day celebrations taking place in the Prince George area; Canada Day in the Park, and a celebration at Huble Homestead.

Canada Day in the Park is also celebrating its 50th anniversary and will be held at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park from 11:00 – 6:00.

There will be food, a market, live entertainment, a kids’ zone, and more set up for all to enjoy.

If you are looking for something a little more old-fashioned, Huble Homestead is hosting their own celebration as well, starting at 10:00.

Some highlights include watermelon and corn eating contests, a pancake breakfast, a chance to make your own butter and ice cream, and live entertainment.

Both events are completely free to attend.

A category 1, 2, and 3 fire ban is in effect, which means you will not be able to have a Canada Day campfire, and the annual firework show has been canceled.
