Community bands together in fundraising efforts for local nurse

After a terrifying car accident, a UHNBC nurse finds herself on the mend at Vancouver General Hospital.

Stacie Reis’ colleagues are banding together now, hoping to fundraise for her lengthy recovery, after she fractured her pelvis, her feet, and a long list of other bones and ailments.

Her colleague Catherine says she was trapped for many hours in the ordeal:

“So she was travelling from Prince George to Terrace, and she was involved in a single vehicle crash. She went off the road and crashed down a 40 foot embankment where she was trapped for approximately 14 hours before she was found.”

They are hoping to raise money for her expensive stay in the hospital, as well as her bills and expenses during her recovery period.

A fundraiser and silent auction is planned for August the 15th, and if you would like to donate to her recovery you can do so here.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
