The Exploration Place was one of three Canadian organizations to receive funding from the Drax Foundation.
The local museum has been awarded $80,000 to support education and skills development in science, technology, engineering and math as well as support Indigenous communities, upgrade green spaces and enhance biodiversity.
The Drax Group has a strong presence in the north with offices in Prince George and pellet plants and additional facilities in Burns Lake, Smithers, Houston, Prince Rupert, and Williams Lake.
Other Canadian projects to receive a chunk of funding included Scientists in School and Connected North.
Today, we’re proud to announce our first round of funding from the Drax Foundation. 👥
In total, $540,000 has been donated, including $150,000 across three organizations in Canada – Connected North, Scientists in School and The Exploration Place. 🌍
