Peace River Regional District issues Evacuation Order for Peavine Creek blaze

More people are fleeing to Dawson Creek.

This evening (Thursday) an Evacuation Order was issued by Peace River Regional District due to immediate danger to life safety caused by the Peavine Creek wildfire.

The Evacuation Order area includes:

ï‚· From the BC/Alberta border west to Gunter Bridge
ï‚· Southwest along with One Island Lake road to the One Island Lake Bridge
ï‚· From that point, continuing east/southeast following the Kiskatinaw River then
east along Cutbank Creek to the Cutbank Dam at Hwy 52E
ï‚· Following South along the west side of Hwy 52E to km 212
ï‚· East to a point of intersection with the BC/Alberta border
ï‚· North along the BC/Alberta border for 14.5 km

Earlier today (Thursday), the Peace River Regional District issued an Evacuation Order for Tumbler Ridge and the Bearhole Lake areas in relation to the West Kiskatinaw River wildfire.
