Gaming grants benefit large group of PG organizations

Several of Prince Georges sporting, cultural and artistic organizations have now received government funding.

As Provincial gaming grants have been announced, with 9 Prince George organizations benefiting from over $350,000, including an $80,000 grant to the PG Youth Soccer Association.

MLA Shirley Bond says often times these groups are small, and rely solely on this funding:

“So many of the programs that we have in communities right across the province and certainly in Northern British Columbia, are run by volunteers by organizations that have one or two staff members”

Other associations include the PG Gymnastics society, Theater Northwest and and the BC Seniors Games Society, which Bond says shows the variety and range of the grants.
