The Northern Sport Centre is doing some upgrading!
NSC Chair Cliff Dezell says the Board will be dipping into savings to spiff up the soccer turf and field house.
“It’s $560,000, approximately,” says Dezell, “People wore it out! There are so many people playing soccer that it last almost exactly as long as the manufacturer said it could.”
As Prince George focuses more on going green, good news for NSC means more good news for the environment.
“The contractor will recycle all the old turf,” explains Dezell, “We’re sighted at the university, which is a big believer in green initiatives of all kind, so we’re a part of that.”
The NSC is also reporting consistently growing membership numbers, and was able to add $32,000 to its capital reserve fund last year.
