A fastball game in Vanderhoof this week is aiming to raise interest in local baseball.
A team from Saskatchewan has been invited out for the event, and the Regina Petro Hawks will be taking on the local Vanderhoof Rippers in a game of speed and skill.
Spencer and Sheldon will be taking part in Thursdays game, and Spencer says it will show everyone how great the game really is:
“There hasn’t been competitive fastball here since the early ’90s. So for our team to show the community that we are committed to it, and that we want to be a good team and represent the community well, I think is important for not only us, but for businesses and other representatives of Vanderhoof”
The free event will feature a 50/50, a concession, and should draw quite a crowd to Mike Kenner Memorial Park at 6:30 pm this Thursday.
Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
