The Prince George Airport is nearly doubling the number of flights to Calgary for the summer come May, and will have increased traffic to Vancouver too.
According to YXS President and CEO Gord Duke, West Jet will add four more weekly flights to Calgary to the schedule in May, moving from the current five a week to nine.
Two will start running on May 1, the other two will begin on May 18.
“Passengers can now take advantage of WestJet’s new direct international flights out of YYC without having to stay overnight on the way home and the timings are also very conducive to weekend getaways,” said Kaitlyn Joyce, the Air Service Development Manager.
This will remain at nine flights a week until early September, when it will drop to seven.
On July 1st, Air Canada will also be adding an extra flight to Vancouver, brining the daily Prince George to Vancouver flight total to four.
“The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) continues to assess our passenger needs
and due to our strong relationships with our airline partners, we are pleased to see
additional service out of our airport,” Duke said.
