Vanderhoof nurse takes home BC Health Care award

A Vanderhoof nurse has been recognized for her tremendous contributions at St. John Hospital.

Heather Floris was recognized by her peers with a BC Health Care Award at the 9th Annual BC Health Care Awards last week.

She says it was obviously a surprise to come away with the award, as there were many other strong candidates:

“So I knew that the nomination was going in, and then they phoned in May and I was totally caught off guard to tell you the truth. I hadn’t expected to win, I knew it was a Northern Health wide award”

Floris has been very active managing a team of 35 in the emergency room at St. John Hospital since 2006. She was at the hospital during the Burns Lake Mill incident, and also took care of almost 20 children after their school bus rolled over.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
