Cougars GM Todd Harkins was there to watch his son follow in his footsteps, as he was drafted in the second round, 42nd overall, by the Calgary Flames in the 1988 Draft.

Brad Morrison was selected 113th overall by the New York Rangers in the 4th round, and Cougars captain Sam Ruopp followed shortly after in the 5th round, picked 129th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Tate Olson, who ranked 146th, was drafted by 210th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in their last pick.

The Canucks selected right winger Brock Boeser of the USHL Waterloo Blackhawks with the 23rd pick.
