15 new fires have started in the Prince George Fire Centre.
Information Officer Jill Kelsh says they all started Thursday and are burning in the Northern part of the region.
“Around Fort St. John and Fort Nelson all of which were started by lightning,” says Kelsh, “that brings the total up to 20 new wild fires since Tuesday.”
Kelsh says they are asking people to take extra caution, as this will be a dry weekend.
She says there are no bans in place in the region, but that will be monitored over the next few days.
