The BC government announced on Wednesday that it will be appointing a code review committee.
Bill Bennett, Minister of Energy and Mines says the committee is made up of an equal number of representatives:
“7 people, two First Nations representatives, 2 representatives from the Mining Union, and 2 representatives from Mining Companies. It is chaired by the Chief Mines Inspector Al Hoffman”
He says in addition to reviewing hundreds of regulations, this committee will also be determining how to best implement seven recommendations stemming from the Mount Polley breach.
