Ness Lake Bible Camp (NLBC) is opening its facility and kitchen to the public for free on Family Day (February 20).
The annual celebration saw hundreds of people cycle through the camp gate for an out-of-season day at the lake before the pandemic, and they are ready to be fully open again this weekend.
“Nothing beats having people on site with free food and fun,” said Dave Horton, NLBC’s Executive Director.
The day kicks off at 10:00 Monday morning, families can experience the camp’s zipline, climbing wall, sledding hill and games in the gym, as well as the return of a 50-foot ice carousel on the lake.
“An ice carousel definitely brings some Northern fun and a Canadian vibe to the day, and where else could your family experience something like this?” said NLBC’s Program Director, Dayna Penson.
She told My PG Now that the last year they were able to fully run Family Day, 2020 (about three weeks before lockdowns started), they had around 900 people come for the day.
There will also be a meal for everyone between 11:00 and 1:00 in the dining hall, and hot dogs, bannock and smores at campfires around the property.
