First Nations chief believes alternate pipeline methods possible

Big oil companies are not taking the environment as seriously as they claim, and one First Nations chief is taking a slightly different approach to proposed pipelines.

Nadleh Whut’en Chief Martin Louie says they have done the research and will be doing everything they can to protect the land from an unavoidable truth:

“I know that we cant stop it, but if we can have a way of trying to change things until they can turn the tap off sometime, then that will be better than sitting back doing nothing and just allowing them to do whatever they want to do”

Louie says the large oil companies are asking for them to accept their standards, However he found that pipeline experts are saying there is a more secure and environmentally friendly, yet more expensive way of piping; Something that falls on deaf ears as companies try to save a dime.
