The results are in, and graduates are giving UNBC straight A’s.
The university’s first comprehensive alumni survey found more than 80 percent of graduates are working in their field of study, and 69 percent of employed graduates are in management or executive-level positions.
“It’s not a surprise.” says UNBC President Dr. Daniel Weeks, “We know we have an outstanding faculty, we do outstanding research, and when you put those things together, you tend to produce outstanding students.”
This survey is the largest ever conducted by UNBC, and included participants from 1994 (the first possible year of graduation) to 2014.
The survey information will be used by the university’s integrated planning process.
“In this day and age, this kind of data analysis is critical to make sure you really understand if your institution is going in the direction you want it to,” explains Week, “We’re clearly producing the kind of leaders that are important to the future of northern BC, the province, and Canada.”
Future surveys will be conducted on an as-needed basis.
