Missing woman found south of Vanderhoof

An elderly First Nations woman is in good health after search and rescue were called out in a search for her last week.

On Friday June 19th Vanderhoof RCMP got a report of a missing 82 year old experienced mushroom picker.

Nechako Valley Search and Rescue along with police dog and air services tracked her down that evening some 10 kilometers away from her original location on the Blue 7000 Forest Service Road, about 130km south of Vanderhoof.

The woman had continued to walk after she became lost, prompting police to remind the public to stay put if they do get stranded in the woods.
