Male British Columbians appear to be making the right choices when it comes to mens health.
According to a recent Canadian Mens Health Foundation survey, unhealthy lifestyle choices are heavily effecting Canadians economically, to the tune of around $36.9 billion dollars.
Wayne Hartrick is CMHF President, and says despite being middle of the pack when it comes to alcohol use, BC men appear to be doing quite well:
“Based on the 4 lifestyle activities that we used for this survey, which were activity, nutrition, sleeping and drinking. British Columbia has the lowest economic impact per man of anywhere in Canada”
Hartrick says when it comes to those four items, the costs in BC currently sit at around $1,944 per man. While the highest numbers appear to be in the East in the Atlantic Provinces, with Newfoundland and Labrador at a lofty $2,712 dollars per individual.
