Prince George’s food bank levels are running critically low.
The Salvation Army’s Neil Wilkinson says the Summer months are always a difficult time for donations:
“Very low in the food bank right now, It’s quite alarming actually we were expecting to have three food drives this past Spring and none of the three food drives really came to fruition. So the food bank is running dangerously low right now”
He says healthy and nutritional items are hard to come by, and things like canned protein, and peanut butter are both really great options for donation.
You can also help out the Salvation Army at your local grocery store with a small donation, and Wilkinson reminds everyone about their new location on 18th avenue.
