Preliminary Inquiry set for Quesnel murder suspect

A date has been set for a Preliminary Inquiry for a Quesnel murder suspect.

52-year-old Joseph Simpson is due back in court on April 12th of next year.

Three days have been set aside in provincial court.

Simpson is charged with one count each of murder and interference with a dead body in connection with the death of 33-year-old Carmelita Abraham.

Abraham was reported missing by her family on January 4th of this year.

Investigators were able to determine that she had left Williams Lake for Quesnel on December 27th or 28th.

The North District Major Crimes Unit then took over the investigation on January 10th, when the case went from a missing person investigation to a suspected homicide.
