WHL:

Riley Heidt of the Prince George Cougars is the WHL Player of the Week.

The 17-year-old Heidt had nine points in three games, including three goals in Sunday’s 6-4 victory over the Vancouver Giants.

The (10-9) PG Cougars visit the (3-14-3) Victoria Royals on Friday and Saturday.

The Cougars lead the B.C. Division by a point over the Kamloops Blazers, but the (8-4-2-1) Blazers have four games in hand.

BCHL: 

The (10-5-1-1) Prince George Spruce Kings host the (7-8-1-1) Alberni Valley Bulldogs Wednesday night at 7:00 before hitting the road again to play at Trail Friday and Penticton Saturday.

The Spruce Kings are 4th in the 9-team Interior Division while the Bulldogs are 5th in the Coastal Division.

Hall of Fame:

Vic Gervais of Prince George is one of four players selected to the ECHL Class of 2023 Hall of Fame.

Gervais racked up 462 points in 266 career ECHL games.

While in the league, he won a Kelly Cup championship with the Hampton Roads Admirals in 1998.

 

NFL: (Final game in Week 10)

It was the first loss of the season for the (8-1) Eagles, leaving no more unbeaten teams in the NFL.

The two-time defending champion Winnipeg Blue Bombers meet the Toronto Argonauts in the 109th Grey Cup game on Sunday.

It will be played at Mosaic Stadium in Regina with kickoff just after 3 p.m. PST.

Canada West Basketball:

The UNBC Timberwolves visit the Fraser Valley Cascades Friday night at 6:00 and 8:00 and Saturday night at 5:00 and 7:00 in Canada West basketball.

BC Elite Hockey League: (BCEHL)

(U18) 

The (5-4-1) U18 Cariboo Cougars host the (9-3) Okanagan Rockets Saturday (5:45 p.m. Kin 2) and Sunday (8:15 a.m. Kin 2).

The U18 Cougars posted a 2-2 record at the Okanagan Classic tournament in Kelowna on the long weekend.

(U18 female) 

The (5-9-2) Northern Capitals play their next games in Kelowna against the (4-7-0-1) Thompson-Okanagan Lakers Friday night at 5:15, Saturday afternoon at 1:15, and Sunday morning at 8:30.
