It’s pretty safe to say no coach got more out of his players than Steve Simonson.
Yesterday (Thursday), Simonson was named the U-SPORTS men’s soccer coach of the year.
He guided the Timberwolves to a third-place finish in the Pacific Division sporting an 8-5-3 record.
The heart of the @UNBCMSoccer program.
Now, recognized as the top coach in Canada.
Congratulations to @UNBC's very own Steve Simonson, who has been named the 2022 @USPORTSca Men's Soccer Coach of the Year! pic.twitter.com/7tZYFo5Qs2

Simonson helped UNBC capture program records for wins, goals, and points.
In addition, UNBC’s Michael Henman was named an All-Canadian in soccer after scoring a Canada-West record-tying 19 goals.
Henman also notched four hat-tricks over the course of the season.
AMAZING.
The first @USPORTSca All-Canadian in @UNBC history.
Michael Henman outscored TWENTY TWO SCHOOLS in Canada this year.
What a way to cap off an incredible season.
Congratulations, Mailman. pic.twitter.com/Ltk1OSckon
