Two streets named after Jim Good in new Nechako Terrace subdivision

The three streets in the Nechako Terrace Subdivision have their names.

Brink Group Founder, John Brink announced two of the streets will be named after Jim Good, the founder of the Goodsir Nature Park just north of Prince George.

The two streets will be named ‘Goodsir Crescent’ and ‘Goodsir Place’.

Good said he was told a week ago he would be receiving a surprise at the subdivision.

“I had no idea, that was the furthest thing from my mind,” he said.

Brink said he’s known Good for about six years, since he came into the Brink Group’s mill looking for small pieces of lumber to make signs in the park.

“If we build a subdivision, then we are usually the ones that are asked to put in recommendations for names of the streets, and we we’re kind of struggling with the names here,” Brink explained.

“In the middle of the night and woke up and said ‘Goodsir, my god that’s what I’m going to do!”

Brink added keeping the surprise for Good was a bit of a challenge.

“The city has to first approve it, the names, and they go through a process,” Brink said.

“Then 9-1-1 has to approve it, and I had three names, they said ‘no, that is too many, you can do two and the other has to be a different one.”

The third street will be named after Brink’s brother Deddo, who passed away two years ago in Holland.
