This year’s Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign was very kind to the Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation.

Over the week-long fundraiser, 48-thousand dollars was raised to help complete a new calming room at UHNBC.
CEO, Aimee Cassie told MyPGNow.com while cardiac care remains the number one priority, our youngest patients aren’t too far behind.
“The pediatric calming room was installed a number of months ago and now that the room is operational, we are looking at what additional pieces are needed to really make it that experience we need.”
“For our kids, that room really is used to help remove them from the chaos of the hospital. They are heading into crisis or are in crisis and it really does calm them. It serves its purpose and is geared towards mental health, which is near and dear to many of us right now.”
The campaign ran from September 19-25.
