Trustee Candidate Josh Silva says District needs to up their standards

Josh Silva is running for School District 57 Trustee because he doesn’t like the way the system is right now.

Silva, a carpenter and father of two girls, has been living in Prince George for 30 years.

He said he even thought of pulling his daughters from the school district.

“They’re dropping standards, that’s not beneficial for our children at all,” Silva said.

“We need to up the standards if anything, and figure out a way to get there.”

He added one of the biggest issues the school district is a shortage of teachers.

“I believe we need to have a happy place for them to come, where it’s actually a desirable place to work, and I think we’re missing that.”

“They’re being silenced, the teachers, they’re not allowed to speak about what they truly believe in.”

The School District Elections, along with the Municipal Election, will take place on Saturday, October 15th.
