Nour Salim is looking to bring a fresh, outside perspective to Prince George City Council.
Salim, an IT project manager for Northern Health, moved to Prince George about a year ago.
“Ever since I arrived in Prince George, I’ve been really into the political scene,” Salim said.
“With the timing of the election, I have a fresh perspective, I have many solutions that can be implemented that are not being implemented.”
Salim said it’s been rare for Prince George to have outside perspectives on council.
“Prince George is actually in quite a decent position when you compare it to other places in BC and outside BC, and even outside Canada,” he explained.
“We can say we have advantages over Vancouver, in that we have a smaller population, and that we have the same problems, rising costs, social problems, etc., we are on a manageable scale.”
Some of the issues important to Salim are promoting education and training, taking action to address social issues, and promoting business in the city.
More information on his platform can be found on his website.
The Municipal Election is set for October 15th.
