Ribbon cut for Learning and Development Centre

A brand new $10.5 million medical training centre is now open in Prince George.

The ribbon was cut on the Learning and Development Centre that will be connected to the hospital.

Executive Associate Dean of Education for the Faculty of Medicine at UBC Dr. David Snadden says the biggest feature of the centre is that it is flexible.

“So when you walk through you will see there is a room that is a bit like a traditional lecture theatre but it is flat,” says Snadden, “and the tables can come together and fold and they become an area where groups can learn together.”

The Learning and Development Centre will be used by UNBC’s Northern Medical Program to train future doctors.

The centre will see its first students this fall.
