It was a memorable day for Prince George product Jared Young.
In his Major League debut today (Friday) for the Chicago Cubs, the 27-year-old started at first base.
Young was sixth in the batting order and went 1-for-4 at the plate.
This included a two-out double in the bottom of the eighth inning.

The Cubs (62-82) defeated the Colorado Rockies (62-82) by a 2-1 score in the first of a three-game set.
Both teams play again tomorrow and Sunday at the friendly confines of Wrigley Field.
Young on the cheers he received from Cubs fans after his first hit: “That’s probably the loudest building I’ve ever been in. That was pretty cool. … It was a surreal day.” https://t.co/6O0bJtkCIK

Young was called up on Wednesday from AAA Iowa and is the first PG-born baseball player to crack a major league roster.
He was selected by Chicago in the 15th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
