City Councilor Terri McConnachie announces mayoral campaign

Terri McConncahie has announced she will be Prince George’s fourth mayoral candidate in the 2022 civic election.

McConnachie is currently on the Prince George City Council in her second term, first being elected in 2014.

She said as a councilor, she has helped Prince George through thick and thin, from economic and cultural highs to wildfire and pandemic lows, as well as the challenges Prince George faces today.

Outside of Council, McConnachie has been the General Manager of the PG Exhibition for 7 years, is the Executive Director of the Canadian Homebuilders’ Association of Northern BC, serves as a trustee for the Public Library, and is a director for the Fraser-Fort George Nechako Rotary Club.

McConnachie said ensuring Prince George continues to be a top choice for education, career growth, and family development are some of her top priorities.

She will be holding an in person event on Wednesday (August 31) at 12:15pm in the Knowledge Garden at the Public Library, where she will share more of her vision for the city.

She joins Roy Stewart, Todd Corrigall, and Chris Wood as a mayoral candidate.

The civic election is on October 15th.
