The Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters has thrown his name onto the October ballot for City Council.
Tim Bennett made the announcement last night (Thursday) via social media.
11 years ago the community put their trust in me. During my time with SD57, I gave the work my heart and soul and that is what makes this announcement so bittersweet. Please read this letter to learn more about my announcement to run for PG City Council. https://t.co/vKspe9gqZI pic.twitter.com/C7POa7N8i8

“After looking at the realities and struggles faced by families and other community members over the past few years, I felt it was important to step forward and advocate for a collaborative and responsible way to build a stronger community” said Bennett.
“I love Prince George. I grew up here, and this is home for me, my wife, and our four kids. Prince George is changing, and our City must adapt to address the needs of all citizens in 2022 and beyond.”
Bennett has also been the trustee for School District 57 for over a decade and was the Chair of the board for four years as well.
He says he is running on:
- Commitment, accountability and accessibility
- Building a sustainable Prince George for all
- Creating change together
- Families and future generations
The municipal election will take place on October 15th
