Vanderhoof continues to prepare for flooding

Over 200 volunteers turned out on Sunday in Vanderhoof to help sandbag more vulnerable properties along the Nechako River.

The river is currently flowing at over 640 cubic metres squared past Vanderhoof, a number expected to rise even further over the next few days.

The most recent estimate from Rio Tinto Alcan said they expected it to rise to 670.

The district of Vanderhoof is holding a public meeting Wednesday at 7 at the Friendship Centre to provide an update on the situation.
