BC Football Conference

The Prince George Kodiaks dropped their first home game as a part of the BC Football Conference last night against the Kamloops Broncos, 35-20.

The Kodiaks, 0-2, will search for their franchise first BCFC win next weekend in Chilliwack against the Valley Huskers, the team that beat them 31-5 on opening weekend.

Their next home game will be August 20th, also against the Huskers.

CFL – Lions: 46  vs  Elks: 14

It was hunting season in BC Place last night and the Lions were feasting, leading the game 37-7 heading into halftime.

Nathan Rourke made history last night, throwing a staggering 477 yards, breaking his own record of most passing yards by a Canadian quarterback.

Based on this, it is not too surprising to see he connected on 34/37 passes in the game for 5 touchdowns.

The Lions improve to 6-1, trailing only the unbeaten Blue Bombers in the league standings.

Next weekend, they square off against the 5-2 Calgary Stampeders.

MLB – Blue Jays: 3  vs  Twins: 7

Toronto will be looking for the 2-2 series split this morning at 11:10 when they play their fourth straight game against Minnesota.

The Jays’ late comeback hopes were squashed after they brought the game within two in the top of the eighth, only to surrender two runs in the bottom to find themselves down four.

Tampa Bay remains two games behind Toronto for second in the AL East, the Orioles are three back in fourth.
