The Exploration Place is running out of room.
The science museum is out of physical storage space in the collections area which is located in its basement.
CEO Tracy Calagheros says they are looking for additional linear shelf space.
“So really there are only two options, either we expand the building, or we find a way to increase our shelf space and that’s the route we’re going,” says Calagheros, “so we’re looking for a mobile shelving unit to go in down there and we have approached the Northern Development Initiative Trust for funding on that.”
Calagheros says this would be a three year project and is expected to cost over $700,000.
She says they have applied for many grants and are looking for different partnerships to get the funds to do the project.
