Update, 5:57 p.m., Tuesday, July 5th:

Flooding has caused damage to the pavement and drains on Winnipeg Street near 15th Avenue in Prince George.
One car was stuck in the water on the street.
City crews have closed the road, and are working to remove excess water from the road.
Some vehicles tried to drive through but were rerouted on 15th Avenue.

Original Story 4:58 p.m. July 5th:
It may not have been the one that was expected, but Prince George finally got its downtown pool.
It wasn’t a pool for swimming, but water pooling from a brief thunderstorm that rolled through Downtown PG this afternoon. (Tuesday).
The Prince George RCMP are on the scene of several flooded streets downtown.
The following roads have been closed while crews work to remove excess water:

- 1st Avenue – currently single-lane traffic between George Street and Ottawa Street
- 2nd Avenue – closed between Queensway and Ontario Street
- Queensway between 1st Avenue and 2nd Avenue
- Winnipeg Street – closed between 13th Avenue and 17th Avenue
