A decision on business licence fees for residential units has been held off, for now.
Originally, council was looking at rescinding the bylaw that charges owners a business licence fee for secondary suites in Prince George, if they have three or more suites instead of just one.
City council voted last night to postpone their decision, asking staff to come back with alternatives on June 9th.
Councillor Albert Kohler opposed repealing the bylaw and thinks postponing changes is a wise move, so that staff’s work hasn’t been in vain.
The city has suspended collecting fees, and if approved, they will refund 184 thousand dollars collected so far to over 11-hundred property owners.
