Canadian Mental Health Association’s ‘Ride Don’t Hide’ campaign set for June

The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is encouraging people in Northern BC to get active for their ‘Ride Don’t Hide’ event.

The campaign has been going on for 10 years across Canada.

“For the whole month of June, we’re inviting people to get in motion, with whatever helps improve their mental wellness, and raise funds that are going to help support CMHA throughout the whole of the Northern Health region,” said, Maureen Davis, Executive Director of CMHA of Northern BC.

Tomorrow, the month long campaign will start with an event outside the CMHA offices in Prince George.

“We’re going to be having all sorts of groups and tables of information related to mental wellness,” Davis said.

There will also be food and refreshments by donation.

Davis added the money raised during the campaign will stay in the community where it came from.

“It would be lovely if we could raise $20,000, but we’re aiming for people to start taking better care of themselves, particularly coming out of COVID-19,” Davis said.

“It’s been a hard time, so whatever they can do to improve their mental health is priceless.”
