One local MP is hoping residents and community organizations will get involved, and come together in support of Canada’s 150th anniversary.
Prince George – Peace River MP Bob Zimmer says they should be taking advantage of a three year, $210 million dollar funding initiative which will support participation in local and regional celebrations and activities contributing to a sense of National pride:
“I think we have seen more of a rise in patriotism in the last couple of generations and certainly with our soldiers overseas in World War One and Two, and we want to celebrate that as Canadians”
Zimmer says local communities will be the driving force behind Canada 150 celebrations, with funding for community driven projects available if eligible.
