The Oilers bounced back in a penalty-filled affair, as both team racked up a combined 48 minutes in penalties.

The Battle of Alberta is now tied 1-1 as the series shifts to Edmonton for games 3 and 4.

Carolina Hurricanes  2  NY Rangers  0  

All the Hurricanes needed was a shorthanded tally from Brendan Smith and an empty netter from Sebastian Aho, as Antti Ranta stopped all 21 shots he faced.

The Hurricanes take a 2-0 series lead heading into games 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Second round action continues tonight with the Colorado Avalanche visiting the St. Louis Blues. (5:00 p.m.)

The series is currently tied at 1-1.

Canada’s Andrew Wiggins posted 16 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, a steal, and a block in the win for Golden State.

Golden State takes a 2-0 series lead as the series heads to Dallas on Sunday.

The Eastern Conference Final continues tonight with the Miami Heat visiting the Boston Celtics (5:30 p.m.), the series is tied at one.

MLB:

PGA Championship:

Will Zalatoris shot a 5-under 65 at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is the current leader at 9-under par after two rounds.

Canadian Adam Hadwin shot a 1-over 71 to make him4-over for the weekend, and is in a tie for 64th in the tournament heading  into Saturday.

The two other Canadians in the tournament, Corey Conners and Mackenzie Hughes each posted a +9 through two rounds, and have missed the cut (+4).
