UNBC names outstanding alumni

The University of Northern BC has selected its Distinguished Alumni for 2015.

Prince George Community Foundation President Ray Noonan and PGSS Teacher Matthew Thomson have both received awards from the Alumni Association.

Thomson, who has been given the Professional Excellence Award, says the small classes at UNBC were the definite highlight for him.

“The awesome professors, the large amount of clubs and activities you can sign up for and become part of the university,” says Thomson, and there is a lot of opportunities to get involved with research.”

Noonan will be given the Community Service Award for his work with the Community Foundation.

Also local philanthropist Mary Kordyban and UNBC Professor Dr. Todd Whitcombe will be made honorary members of UNBC’s Alumni Association.
