Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit has been conducting an investigation into drug trafficking in the community over the past month, and came back with $391,000 worth of fentanyl.
Police said they arrested two men, and seized 70 grams of fentanyl, cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia off of one of the suspects.
Officers said that both of the men were well known to police.
Two warrants were put out on a residence on the 2000 block of Pine Street and an apartment building on the 1700 block of 17th avenue.
Investigators found 800 grams of fentanyl, as well as cocaine, methamphetamine, dilaudid pills, and a firearm.
Police said that amount of fentanyl is enough for about 8,700 single doses of the drug.
“This is a very significant seizure of drugs, which likely accounted for a large portion of Prince George’s illicit drug supply. Police believe this was used to target those frequenting the downtown area,” said Cpl Jen Cooper.
Both suspects were released pending the results of the investigation.
